Parking
If the student practicum is at a VIHA site, there are specific instructions for parking. Students should never park in the patient parking lot, and are encouraged to use transit, carpool, or bike to work. If that is not possible, scratch tickets can be purchased for parking in the staff lot. Scratch tickets come in books of 5 at a cost of $21.00, which works out to $4.20/day.
The main Island Health parking office is at VGH with hours of 7:45 to 3:30, Monday to Friday. For more information or if there is no one at the office in the open hours, call 250-727-4050. There is also a parking office at RJH with varying times of operation, so it’s best to call before a visit – 250-370-8303.
